About the Property


Inside: accommodation at Agnantio is spread over three floors and features high ceilings, cool white walls and light-coloured furnishings. The ground floor is home to a spacious, airy open-plan living area and kitchen diner, illuminated by a series of French windows that access a large panoramic terrace and bring the sun and the views inside. A utility room and guest bathroom complete the ground floor rooms. Stairs lead to the first floor, which comprises a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (with shower and tub) and a twin room, also with an en-suite bathroom. The second floor has a large twin bedroom, again with an en-suite bathroom. All three bedrooms open onto panoramic terraces that offer yet more of those stunning views.

Outside: Agnantio's pedigree as a fabulous summer house is evident from the way the outside areas have been designed. A bevvy of terraces, some shady, some meant for basking in the sun, surround the house on a variety of levels, alternating with fragrant Mediterranean gardens. Outside the living area and kitchen-diner on the ground floor is a large covered area that is perfect for al fresco dining with a view. Steps lead down from the ground floor to the pool area with its fabulous infinity pool overlooking the sea below.

Think About

Agnantio features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. The splendid pool has quite a large drop off the infinity side (Please see photo 20 on the slideshow) so precautions shoule be taken here. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.

The first part of the road up to Agnantio is unpaved and a little rough. We therefore strongly recommend guests hire a 4-wheel drive car.

A 15-minute walk downhill will get you to the beach, tavernas and shops of Mikros Gialos. The walk back is uphill, quite steep and takes about 20 minutes.


The Area

Exploring the local Area

Agnantio is situated in the south-east of Lefkada, just over the water from the neighbouring island of Meganissi and just a 5-minute drive away from the beach, harbour and seafront tavernas of Mikros Gialos, where it is possible to rent boats. Exploring The island of Lefkada, which is 35km long and 15km wide, is relatively easy in a week (if you can pull yourselves away from the views and pool of the villa!) and offers a great deal to see and do. The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline includes a host of sandy beaches and the dramatic white cliffs Cape Lefkatas on the southern tip. The wooded mountains of the interior, some of which rise to over 1100m, offer excellent walking, some truly beautiful scenery and a scattering of unspoilt villages where the way of life remains profoundly connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs.

At its northern point Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by a causeway and, via frequent ferry services from the ports of Nidri and Vasiliki, to several of the other islands of the Ionian archipelago (including nearby Meganissi), making it eminently possible to explore further afield.
